UC Davis Halloween Rave Event

Overview
Every year, the UC Davis Entertainment Council hosts a mini Halloween-themed rave as one of the many live events throughout the year. In a team of four, we designed seven graphics, from creating the brand identity to roll-out in a period of 13 days.
Brand Guide + Inspiration
We were inspired by rave posters that we've seen in the real world— using type that takes up a lot of space— utilizing a cyber aesthetic. This was our first project, as design directors, with full creative freedom (other than font restrictions for accessibility). With that:
We got our design team of four to mood board together in a rapid process.
After drawing similarities, we create a brand identity for the event
The brand identity included typography, a new logo, color palette, study guide, and a variety of digitized assets
For this event specifically, we had our coordinator hand draw and scan cyber-sigils that are reminiscent of spider webs, using a primarily dark color palette, utilizing a glowy effect, and texture
We wanted the aesthetic to be high-energy, but spooky.

Role
Co-Design Director
As co-design director, I worked closely with my partner to make creative decisions that not only pertain to this event, but overall branding of Entertainment Council
Alongside the main Raveyard graphics, we decided that the profile picture for social media platforms and the general meeting posts would also follow the Raveyard brand guide to establish an "era," while differentiating them through specific decisions, while using the same design system.
The Process
Post-production, I took the raw photos and referenced my initial sketches and inspiration. I went through hours of:
Going between Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Lightroom to mimick the appearance of a painting.
I also printed each final piece out and scanned each one to give the photos a textured and more refined look.
